Jennifer Salos, MS, CNC
Jennifer is a nationally Certified Nutritional Consultant and Diplomat of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University, and a Masters of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. She is the founder of Chesapeake Holistic Natural Health Center and has been on the leading edge of the natural health movement for almost 20 years.
After her own health crisis in her 20s that was ultimately reversed through nutrition and lifestyle modification, Jennifer decided to devote her career to helping others achieve wellness through science-based natural health strategies. Jennifer pioneered the use of leading-edge biocommunication technologies in the greater Annapolis area, and has helped thousands reach their vibrant living goals.
Jennifer has a passion for travel, jewelry making, cooking, and reading. Jennifer lives on Kent Island with her husband, Steve, and beautiful daughter, Summer, who inspire her every single day.
Carol Heckman, RN, CNHP, MH, CNC
Carol is a Registered Nurse and a Traditionally Certified Naturopath through Trinity College of Natural Health. She is also a Master Herbalist, and became a Certified Nutritional Consultant through Trinity School of Naturopathy. Since 2003, she’s been teaching and lecturing in the community, including at AACC.
As a nutrition expert, Carol is also passionate about skin care. She often says that what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies: despite being the largest organ, skin is one of the most overlooked entryways for toxins. Carol helps clients reach their wellness goals and learn about healthy choices and balanced living.
She truly walks the talk with her own work/life balance. When not at Chesapeake Holistic, Carol shares her life with her husband and two beautiful children here in Annapolis and at their organic farm in Cortland, NY.
Lisa Manning, CST, CHt
Lisa is a Craniosacral and Myofascial Release Therapist. She is also a Master Certified Hypnotherapist (specializing in Somato-Emotional Hypnosis to address chronic pain and anxiety) and a trained Ionic Foot Detox practitioner. Lisa attended Texas Woman’s University and Lone Star College.
Her therapeutic approach involves hands-on healing to relieve excess strain on the nervous system and to restore proper function and movement. Lisa also educates clients in self-care techniques to manage stress, pain and anxiety naturally, which is especially helpful for those seeking to avoid, decrease or stop using prescription and OTC medications.
Lisa has lived all over the world; she brings a wealth of experience, warmth and compassion to her work with clients from all walks of life. She is also certified in Elder Care and End-of-Life Care and is an active volunteer with the Healing Arts Program for Hospice of the Chesapeake. Lisa is the mother of four grown children and the adoring grandmother of two.
Kyle D. McIntyre, PT, DPT, CFMT
Kyle is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Functional Manual Therapist. He graduated from Arcadia University with a B.A. in Biology and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since graduating, Kyle has completed 700-plus hours of continuing education, including: Movement Restoration, Neuroscience Pain Education, Nervous System Mobilization, Spinal Mobilization and Manipulation, and Movement System Syndromes.
He also has 250 postdoctoral clinical mentorship hours as an Orthopedic Resident through the Functional Manual Therapy Foundation. In 2016, Kyle completed his Functional Manual Therapy Certification (through the Institute of Physical Art) with the highest level of distinction and joined the Institute of Physical Art faculty as an instructor.
Kyle’s therapeutic work at helps athletes and those with chronic orthopedic conditions optimize their functional capacity by creating more efficient movement patterns. His integrated manual therapy and movement restoration approaches also treat acute and chronic pain syndromes.
Katherine A. Sale, MSW, MAc, LAc, CNC
Katherine is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist (Dipl. Ac., NCCAOM) and is licensed through the Maryland Board of Acupuncture. She’s also a Certified Acupuncture Detox Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). In addition, Katherine is a Certified Nutritional Consultant (CNC) through the American Association of Nutritional Consultants (AANC). She also has specialized training in Bioresonance Therapies, Applied Kinesiology, and Biological Decoding (Hamer, German New Medicine).
She was one of our founding partners who recently returned to Chesapeake Holistic! Katherine has launched her new practice here offering Acupuncture (and related integrative energy therapies), and will gradually expand the bioresonance services we provide. She specializes in multiple Acupuncture systems: Five Element Taoist; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); Balance Method (TCM and Five Element); Auricular Therapy (Outer-Ear Acupuncture); Electrical Stimulation (Electrostim); Laser Acupuncture (non-invasive cold laser); and Acupuncture Detox (which works well with Ionic Foot Detox).
Katherine’s work brings together her multifaceted education and experience, including: allergy desensitization, nutritional counseling, immunotherapy, and critical care medical areas. She holds a master’s degree from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture (MAc), with a certified subspecialty in substance abuse and addictions. Katherine also has a master’s in Psychiatric Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland at Baltimore – where she worked clinically at the University of Maryland Medical Center in psychiatry, pediatric oncology and hematology, general pediatrics, hospice, and bereavement. Her longstanding interest in immune function, allergies and food sensitivities led to her work with Dr. Ellen Cutler, DC (author of The Food Allergy Cure).
Katherine’s passion is empowering clients by reconnecting them to their inner-body wisdom. With more than 30 years of experience in integrative holistic wellness, and transformational counseling, she helps each client understand the ‘why’ behind ailments and emotions (including resistance to healing) and provides guidance to achieve a more balanced, healthier and fulfilling life. Katherine’s personal interests include: travel; exploring new cultures (she’s lived in Japan and Italy); theatre, movies and the arts… and, most of all, spending time with her daughters and growing family.
Cathy Logan, CHC, Certified Emotion Code® Practitioner, Trained ONDAMED® Technician
Cathy studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York and earned her certification as a Health Coach through Purchase College, State University of New York. She also attended Widener University.
Most recently, Cathy became a Certified Practitioner of The Emotion Code® protocol and a trained ONDAMED® technician. She has found her true calling helping clients achieve remarkable results. Cathy has also worked with Chesapeake Holistic clients for years as a nutrition consultant. Her cheerful personality and nurturing nature (combined with her talent and skills) make her a client favorite.
Cathy lives in Annapolis with her husband, Deke, who is an accomplished potter; his beautiful work graces our relaxing ONDAMED room. The couple are empty-nesters who now share their home with golden retrievers: Toby and Cruiser. Their daughter, Katie, lives and works in Boston and their son, Trip, attends the University of Miami.
Cathy says, “The joke is… every time a child goes to college, I add a puppy! Good thing I only had two kids!” She enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and continually learning more about innovative healing modalities.
Glynda Cullen, LMT, LE
Glynda Cullen is a licensed Massage Therapist and a licensed Esthetician. She attended the Baltimore School of Massage and Chesapeake School of Esthetics. Glynda also learned about pain referral patterns, the healing process, and how to apply rehabilitative therapies, while working as a Chiropractic Assistant (and attending massage school).
She offers traditional therapeutic bodywork and facials with natural products in her nurturing spa treatment room. Glynda’s well-appointed space is designed with natural elements and meant to encourage what she calls sacred rest. In her practice, she incorporates Hawaiian music and art (to keep her heart open and connected to the work) and ocean wave sounds to guide clients to the calm within.
Glynda lives on Maryland’s eastern shore with her husband and daughter. She continues to be a student of therapeutic approaches to massage and skincare, including Lomi Lomi and Ayurveda healing. Glynda’s dream and plan is to take additional, intensive Lomi Lomi training in Maui, where she has a deep connection to the mana (life force) of the aina (land).
Jill Hannon, Office Manager
Jill is our amazing Office Manager. She brings two decades of diverse client services and management experience -which comes in handy because Jill oversees facility operations, accounts payable/receivable, marketing, practitioner calendars, and she manages the Chesapeake Holistic store (at our office and the online version).
What is more, her client-concierge skills enable Jill to maintain the relaxing and nurturing (yet efficient) environment our clients love. Jill trains our administrative staff to maintain high customer service standards and oversees this team (that helps to answer phones and assist with inventory management and shipping).
Equally important, Jill is very knowledgeable about holistic wellness and all of our protocols. If you have any questions about which of our services or specialists is right for you, call Jill. She lives in Annapolis with her husband, a Pug named Telly, and a cat named Gibby. Jill says: “They’re my babies!! I’m passionate about animals’ rights, which makes me a softy when it comes to anything about animals; I donate several times a year to various rescue organizations.” Jill also likes reading and watching mysteries, “I love a good who-done-it.”
Lisa is our Office Assistant extraordinaire! Lisa has a BA in psychology and a BS in English. In a previous life, she was a middle school English teacher and worked as a children’s specialist and story teller in two local bookstores.
Lisa loves dogs and reading and crafting and spending time at her beach house. Lisa looks forward to seeing friends and clients of Chesapeake Holistic Natural Health Center and to helping wherever she can.
